The Thursday Murder Club

When you pick up a murder mystery, the last thing you expect is to laugh. This fictional rendering - The Thursday Murder Club - had me laughing from chapter one. It has all the surprise elements that make for a good murder mystery, twists and turns that have you wondering what other web might be woven into the story.

It is a story of four pensioners – all living in the same senior living community establishment, who take it upon themselves to solve the murder of a real estate developer and owner. Yep. They are sweet, cheeky, smart, innocent [don’t we feel this way about the more senior people in our lives?] and are excited to jump on this case. It is also a story of later years, of friendship, and of little drops of love.

For the murder itself, I could not figure out the murderer until the person casually mentioned it during a light game of chess. Who would have thought?!

Can the past ever stay in the past? How about if you buried the past – like, literally? As kids are taught, oh be careful little hands what do… 😊Someone might be watching, and sometimes that someone is your conscience refusing to cut you some slack.

Anyway, if you can find this book, I promise you will be turning those pages excitedly and laughing along the way.
